Brilliant quality heavy gauge stainless steel set

I bought this set because I did not know if I wanted a 4 quart or 6 quart pressure cooker, this set solved my problem. When I got this set I was impressed with the quality as it was heavy SS inside and out. My pressure cooker set had only two settings, one for 15 psi and another for 8.5 psi, not three that this listing said. I also ordered the steam basket and trivet ($20), extra gasket ($12), and a SS top ($20) for either base from Magefesausa.com who told me that their pressure cookers only have the two pressure settings and that description of 3 settings was in error.

This pot performs well; as excellent as the T-FAL model I’ve had for nearly 20 yrs. If it lasts as long I won’t feel too terrible about having paid 4x as much.

The only complaint [other than cost!] is the way you have to take the handle off to clean after each use. You’ve got to have quite stong hands to work it.

I own several products from WMF. They are all long lasting and perfect quality.

I am just wondering whether anyone can tell me if this piece, Perfect Plus 4.5- Quart could be used on an induction stovetop.

It is too small

The quality of this pressure cooker may be very excellent, but a 4.5 quart cooker is way to small. If you are new to pressure cooking, you will learn this very quickly. I have not had a lot of experience, but I bought an 8 quart Presto Pressure Cooker for general use and I also bought a 22 quart Mirror Pressure Cooker for canning within the last year. Both Cookers do a very safe reliable job, are simple to use, and the total cost of both cookers was less than this gold box deal. Please don’t spend your money carelessly,

Fantastic product – TERRIBLE CUSTOM SERVICE

This is a very well built pressure cooker, solid and simple to use. But, the first Chef’s Design P.C. I bought via Amazon broke within weeks. The heavy gauge plastic pressure release valve broke and stays locked in “release” position. The price was better than any other, so I simply bought another. The new one is terrific and we use it regularly without any issues.

The cooker gets 5 stars, but Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co. gets no stars for their rude phone reps and evasive warranty policies.

Their warranty clearly states, ” if the product becomes defective within the warranty period, Wisconsin Aluminum will replace or repair it at our discretion.” It also states that they will not cover hurt to the product resulting from misuse, overheating, accidents or alteration to the product. NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT W.A. ONLY COVERS THE ACTUAL STAINLESS STEEL CONTAINER – NOT THE PLASTIC RELEASE HANDLE, which was the first thing out of their customer services mouth!

When I called them to let W.A. know I was about to send the lid back, the rep promptly told me that the pot I bought in late 2004 was in fact 14 years ancient and they didn’t make it anymore and wouldn’t fix it. I clarified that I recently bought the same item for a second time on Amazon a few months go and assured her that they DO still make it. She than told me that I shouldn’t have waited to send it back and than I wouldn’t have and to buy a new one. That may be right, but it was still defective and should be covered by the warranty of 10 years!

I should be considered a EXCELLENT CUSTOMER since I returned to buy another from them, but instead I was treated like a kid that got caught chewing gum in school.

FINALLY after objections, explanations and not letting the Rep push me around, she opted to just send me the 2 plastic parts that were dysfunctional, to be fixed by myself…

WISCONSIN ALUMINUM Co. , if you don’t want to honor your 10 year warranty…you must be sure to state that your crummy warranty only covers the stainless steel part of the item and NOT the plastic release handles. And teach your customer service folks to be polite. We shouldn’t be made to feel like we’re being place on trail with Judge Judy just to get one of your items repaired that was faulty in the first place!

I am disappointed in the Perfect Plus pressure cooker. The basket inside it is made of aluminum. I never cook any of my food in aluminum and bought a stainless steel pressure cooker for this reason. Also, it does not cook many food items within the time it says and the number of rings it says to have showing really is out of sync with what it takes to fully cook anything. Plus, the manufacturer has discontinued this item, so excellent luck getting replacement parts. I feel I wasted money I could have better spent elsewhere.

Doesn’t work right

Just got this for Christmas and can’t get the pressure cooker to work as advertised. I’ve tried over and over, with food and then just plain water, and can’t get the rocker to rock. Everytime I use it, it behaves somewhat differently. Seems like the silicone gasket isn’t sealing correctly, though I’ve tried oiling it (and not). It’s my first pressure cooker, so maybe it’s just me. I have a childhood memory of the rocker wobbling back and forth and after many tries this week, that’s still all it is, a distant memory.

This is our second pressure cooker of the same kind from WMF. The plastic seal of the first one got loose after 4 years of use.

After doing some research, this brand name came up as a recommendation and after seeing this discounted price I had to go for it.

What I like about it:

Aluminum core base for even heat distribution.

Made in Spain, not China

Brushed stainless steel interior, no toxic non-stick coatings

Everything feels very sturdy and well-made

2 pressure settings, multiple safety release valves.

In fact I liked it so much after using it the first time, I’m buying a 2nd one for multiple course cooking.
